This version has an angled stem and a special hook to secure the thermometer to the edge of the tray. It is made of shatterproof glass. The temperature is determined by alcohol rather than mercury. The main advantage of alcohol thermometers is their increased safety for people and the environment. The thermometer has both a Celsius scale and a Fahrenheit scale.
