Ilford Obscura pinhole camera This pinhole camera reduces photography to the essentials. In our fast-moving world, which is full of digital high-tech gadgets, the Obscura slows down the pace, lets us find some calm, and draws our attention to the photographic motif and the visualization of our fantasies. This teaches us to look at ourselves and our world from a completely new perspective. The Obscura by Ilford focuses on a new photographic feeling. The clever, simple, robust and lightweight construction doesn't have any distracting bells and whistles. The camera is made in England of expanded PVC, and consists of two "boxes" which are pushed into one another and closed with a magnet. One box contains the photographic material and is loaded in the dark (e.g. in a changing bag). The other box hides the precise, chemically etched 0.3 mm pinhole aperture, which is fixed in front of the closure. The focal length of 87 mm creates beautiful wide angle perspectives on the 4 x 5 inch sheet film or direct positive paper.

There is a sticker included with the camera, which can be stuck on to help establish the framing during focusing. As well as this, the Obscura by Ilford kit also includes 10 sheets of Ilford Delta 100 sheet film, 20 sheets photographic paper (normally Ilford Multigrade IV RC paper), an exposure calculator, a light-proof storage box for the photographic material and a booklet with handling instructions.
